TAAF 2010 - People's Choice Set!

We have had many musical submissions to this year’s Trenton Ave Arts Festival, a big thank you to everyone that inquired. It shows that the festival is valued as a community resource that people want to be a part of!

Myself and the other curator invited some folks to perform then went through the submissions to round out the program for the day. In the end, we decided to leave one spot open to be determined by the people! We narrowed the field down to four selections that both of us felt were deserving of a spot – and now it’s your turn to make the final decision..

Below are short bios of the groups/musicians with links so you can give everyone a listen. After doing so, go to the poll below and vote for your favorite!

Voting ends 4/22 (one month before the festival), so listen and select the people’s choice for the 2010 Trenton Ave Arts Festival.


Taggart:

“Taggart, together as a band since 1995, has been tearing up stages in the tri-state area with their high-energy brand of rock n roll. Taking cues from seminal bands like The Replacements and Husker Du, coupled with British legends like The Who and The Beatles, Taggart has released two full length records and has been featured on numerous compilations, including "Left of The Dial: A Tribute to the Replacements" and "Who’s Not Forgotten: A Tribute to The Who", both on New Jersey indie label, Face Down Records. Taggart’s sets are high energy affairs, sometimes lasting a bombastic 45 minutes, and other times lasting an arena rock worthy two and a half hours! “Is a Craig Hendrix brain-child. A multi-instrumentslist producer from unknown origins in Minnesota, transplanted to Bucks County Pa in the early 80’s. He is now based in Philadelphia. Hendrix was once a member of The Bon Savants and presently performs with Aderbat and Birdie Busch. Kenneth Tyrone:

I am a self-educated working-class songwriter, guitarist, sometime singer and a writer who has lived all over the contiguous United States. I currently reside in The City of Brotherly Lurv. The full-band tracks here, "Not The Next World", "Chrysanthemums", and "Esperanza", were products of a floating collaboration I called The Wills Wilde. They are my compositions, lyrically and musically. They were produced by me and Paul Burke, who contributed electronics and processing, vocals and strings by Heather Gardner, cello by Ian Downey and Sarah Graff, drums by Otto Hauser.
